the gods had bade him to
the torture of sitting in city ruins
with nothing but sepulchral remains around him

and he was depraved
and so very ravenous
that the air around him
had a palpable tightness,
a fear,
even his own breath feared him
for he would devour anything he got his
mangled and boney hands upon.

His hands were patterned with sinews:
large and vast, like
continents on the end of
two very long and slender
arms.
His hands were bruised and
scarred, they were gruesome
and whispered of past murders
and trespasses.

These hands had committed every sin
they had drank every poison,

and it grows later
night stretches into dawn and
my fingers pull at the clouds like
the waves to shells on a beach,
coaxing

the sky towards me.

The very purpose
of my existence
and these late nights
stretched out on a tiny bed
with my hair wrapped
between my fingers,
the very purpose
of my frantic thoughts
and fumbling looks
to perhaps catch
a ghost in my mind's eyes,
the purpose
of this late night existence is you.

Bwahaha, first black person I've ever painted.
This picture is definitely inspired by this week's ANTM photoshoot, srsly. I actually like how it came out and everything!

I remember that photo shoot. Definitely worth using that concept, it snaps the attention right to the eyes! The facial anatomy is really nice, but I particularly like the close attention you've paid to the reflection. It's distorted in just the right places to still be readable as a reflected face.
